Microbiology for the Dental Team
Speaker: Martin Fulford BDS MPhil DGDP FIBMS
Originally trained as a biomedical scientist specialising in medical microbiology. Worked for 13 years in hospital pathology laboratories before retraining as a dentist. Worked in general dental practice as a practice owner before retiring from clinical practice. Martin now works as a clinical adviser for NHS England, is a freelance lecturer all over the world and is an expert witness at the GDC. Publications: numerous peer reviewed scientific papers on microbiology in dentistry and is an author of a textbook on infection control in dentistry.
Aim(s): To update the group on microbiology with particular relations to dentistry.
Objectives: To discuss why certain microbes cause disease and how we can use this information in our daily work.
Learning outcomes: To provide the group with a better understanding of microbiology and how we can use this information in our daily work.

Date and Venue
Meeting will be held on Wednesday 2nd March 2016 at 1845 for a 1900 start.
It will take place at St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon BA15 1DE
This evening is suitable for the whole dental team. Cost is £5 for DCP’s (including Practice Managers and Receptionists) and £10 for Dentists. (Tea, coffee and Biscuits will be provided) The evening will provide you with 2 hours verifiable CPD’s
