Satisfactory Completion of Dental Core Training

To be eligible for satisfactory completion of a year of Dental Core Training and a certificate you will be required to complete the following:

  • Sign and return the Educational Agreement.
  • Attend and record appraisal and review of portfolio at regular 3 monthly meetings with your Educational Supervisor.
  • Complete the e-Portfolio to a high standard – this requires you to be proactive in carrying out reflection as well as seeking appropriate workplace based assessments and other feedback and record these in the Dental Foundation Training Portfolio. Workplace based assessments (D-EP, CbDs etc) should be undertaken by several members of the team and evenly spread throughout the year rather than in clusters prior to appraisals (see below).
  • Successfully complete an audit cycle.
  • Attend local programmed study days.
  • Complete the end of year exit survey.
  • Present an audit or other paper/poster at the Regional Hospital  Spring Meeting or another local or national meeting - while not an essential requirement, this will be viewed favourably.
