Quality & Innovation - Achieving Excellence in Health Care

The 2019 Quality Improvement (QI) and Patient Safety Conference will be a joint venture with Health Education England South West ((HEE SW) and the West of England & South West Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs).

HEE SW has organised this free of charge conference to share learning and best practice from eminent quality improvement and patient safety experts. The best exemplars of QI and innovations in health care will be selected for either oral or poster presentations. Invitations are extended to all health care professionals to capture good examples of multi-professional team working.

Guest speakers Alan Ryan, Director of Transformation HEE will share his expertise on Technology Enhanced Learning. Tricia Woodhead, Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellow and Improvement Advisor will share her expertise on how to become champions in QI in NHS.

Attendees will be invited to participate in workshops focusing on human factors, culture and safety, how to start a QI project and National Early Warning Signs (NEWS) and deteriorating patients. 

 

6 CPD  credits will be awarded following attendance and completion of feedback.

QI Methodology – Busting the Myths

Abstract Submission 

Thank you to everyone that submitted an abstract this year. We had an unprecedented interest in the conference and had around 120 abstracts submitted, reflecting on the excellent and high calibre work on quality improvement and patient safety. 

Shortlisted entrants have been invited to either give a short 7 minutes oral presentation or present work as a poster. Prizes will be awarded to the best and runner up oral and poster presentations.
