Bev and Sarah are joint educational supervisors, both of whom will support you throughout your Foundation Training year.
Bev has over 29 years’ experience in general dental practice and has developed her career working to become highly skilled in a wide range of dental treatments. Bev enjoys and is good at training and supporting dental colleagues. She will help you develop your career, gaining experience and improvement in both your knowledge and skills.
Sarah has worked in general practice since 1996 and is a well-respected, highly skilled professional. Sarah enjoys oral surgery and provides a referral service to her colleagues for more complex extractions. Sarah would support you in all your oral surgery needs and improve your current skills. Sarah also delights in general practice variety and enjoys building a good rapport with nervous and anxious patients.

This friendly supportive practice was recently remodelled, your surgery is new, modern, air-conditioned and well equipped. You will benefit from central sterilisation, R4 computerisation, on site ceramic and prosthetic laboratories, digital radiography, OPG, CT scanner, hygienists and a team of cheerful, helpful staff, including colleagues at varying stages in their careers, an experienced dental nurse and a receptionist to look after you and your patients.
The practice aims to support and provide for a wide range of experiences during your FD year including in house CPD events and training, and access to observational sessions with dentists who have additional skills in oral surgery, implantology, facial aesthetics, cosmetic dentistry and endodontics.

Robert qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2004. During Robert’s time in general practice he has had the opportunity to enjoy and further his skills in many areas of dentistry . He will provide you with the personalised support that you require throughout your year in all areas of clinical dentistry, administration and your e-portfolio to help you gain successful completion of your FD year.
Robert has a particular interest in endodontics and is an active member of Avon Local Dental Committee which represents and supports local dentists at various functions. He is also involved in managing the Dental Performers List.
Away from work Rob is usually found trail running and on the golf course.

Mike Biccard started working at Parkfield Dental Surgery in 1993 and then in 2007 he took over and became the Practice Principle. After graduating from dental school in South Africa, Mike gained his Diploma in Postgraduate studies at Bristol University, with modules in Oral Surgery, Orthodontics and Sedation and Anxiety Control. He gained the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at Bristol University recently. He has been a DF Educational Supervisor for the last 12 years. Mike is married with two sons, and in his spare time he is a keen polo player and also has a passion for flying where he held both a fixed wing and rotary pilots licence.

Parkfield is a purpose built dental practice, situated in a quiet residential area within walking distance of Taunton town centre. We are busy, friendly, welcoming, family run practice offering a wide range of treatments including implants and orthodontics. There are six surgeries, one of which is a dedicated DF surgery with its own allocated experienced and friendly nurse used to working with newly qualified DF’s. All surgeries have a high standard of equipment including computerised records, digital radiographs, fibre optics handpieces, rotary endodontics and air-conditioning.

Taunton is a busy medium sized market town, with a wide range of activities on offer from high street shopping with the latest big named brands though to bars & restaurants. For those that enjoy outdoor pursuits, Taunton is surrounded by beautiful countryside for mountain biking or walking, which includes the Quantocks Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is easy access to the M5 motorway, Exeter city centre is less than 40 minutes away by road, whilst London is less than 2 hours away by rail.

Practice information:
North Petherton Dental Surgery mainly treats NHS patients; it is a busy and popular village practice. Rodericks acquired the practice in 2012 and has refurbished and extended the facilities. The practice has three surgeries, all of which are computerised with digital radiographs, and a hygienist. Rodericks has a fantastic clinical support structure and a wealth of experience training foundation dentists.
Location and Living:
North Petherton is a village situated between Bridgwater and Taunton. It is conveniently located just off junction 24 of the M5. The area has access to some of the country’s best road cycling, mountain biking and finest ciders! Commuting from Bristol is possible (50 minutes) but most members of staff live in and around Somerset.

Tim qualified from Cardiff in 2009 and became a partner in the practice in 2011. He enjoys all elements of general dental practice but particularly enjoys aesthetic dentistry including Invisalign. Outside of work he plays drums with a local gigging band and also enjoys squash, golf and recently taken up bee keeping. He takes a fairly relaxed but supportive role as a foundation trainer and has been a trainer since 2014. He is always available to help out no matter what the problem or question.
Practice Information:
The practice opened the doors of its brand new purpose built premises in January 2012 which provided a modern light and spacious environment in which to work. All six surgeries are fully computerised along with digital radiography. Each year we have two foundation dentists and have a surgery for right and left handed operators. We have a dedicated and experienced team of nurses who have several years of experience assisting foundation dentists and are happy to offer support and advice when needed.
Location and Living:
Axminster is located a short distance away from the World Heritage Jurassic coast and is easily commutable from both Taunton and Exeter which is where most of the previous FD’s have lived. It is advantageous to have your own transport but not essential. We are happy to help you find suitable accommodation should you wish.

Our practice provides a wide range of treatment to around 14,000 patients. The 6 surgeries are used by 6 dentists, a therapist and a hygienist supported by an experienced, friendly and social team. We are fully computerised, with digital intra and pan-oral radiography, NiTi rotary endodontics and apex location and a dedicated decontamination room. We are currently participating in the NHS Prototype scheme.
Location:
Tiverton is a small market town 7 miles from the M5 at Junction 27 with excellent rail services from Tiverton Parkway station and within easy reach of Exeter, Taunton, Exmoor, Dartmoor and the North and South Devon coasts. Most previous FDs have lived in Exeter, approx 15 miles away.

The surgeries are very spacious and air conditioned, we have been a training practice for over fifteen years and our staff know what support the Foundation Dentists require.

The practice is located in a market town in East Devon on the Dorset and Somerset border. There is accommodation available within the town but previous Foundation Dentists have commuted from both Exeter and Taunton

All dentists are supported by fully qualified and experienced dental nurses and Oral Health Educators.

Minehead is a popular coastal town close to Exmoor National Park and about 20 miles from Taunton. The Practice is in the town centre and about 150m from the beach. The town is popular amongst holiday makers and forms part of the South West Coastal Path. Public Transport is limited and you may feel that having your own transport would be benefical.

Location and living:
Burnham on Sea is a busy seaside town that attracts many visitors each year. It is in close proximity to the M5 making travel from Bristol or Taunton relatively easy. The practice is situated on a health campus with a Doctor’s surgery, pharmacy and large car park. The practice occupies a rural location with stunning views from each of the surgeries.

Practice Information:
The practice has a long history. Gary has worked here since 1988 as an associate, a partner and now sole principle. It has 3 surgeries and is staffed by an experienced team supporting the dentists and dental hygienist. The surgeries are equipped to practice dentistry to a high standard and are fully computerized with digital radiographs.
The FDs surgery is not suitable for a left-handed Trainee.
Location and Living:
Yeovil is a market town in South Somerset about 40 miles from Bristol. It has good road and rail links to Bristol and London. A commute for the training days to Taunton is possible but your own transport would be advantageous. It has good sporting and recreational facilities.

Esther Angseesing qualified in Bristol in 1992, where she also took her DPDS, and has worked in the South West ever since. She has been an ES for 8 years. Esther's approach is to provide a supportive training environment, where the FD can flourish. The FD is encouraged to develop and learn, but can rely on the backup of the whole practice team. When not working, Esther enjoys photography, rock music and food & drink (especially from her allotment).

Quantock View Dental Centre moved to its brand new, state-of-the-art facilities in April 2017. It's a friendly, five-surgery practice that offers a mixture of NHS, private and Denplan treatment. Like its sister practice in Minehead, the practice is fully computerised, with new, well-equipped surgeries featuring Kavo equipment, Digital Radiography including OPG and Reciprocating Rotary Endodontics. The FD will have the support of a dedicated, qualified and experienced dental nurse, as well access to a hygienist.
Location and Living:
Bridgwater is a busy town on the South West coast, with fast road and rail links to Taunton to the South, Bristol to the North, and easy access to the whole of the South West. The practice is just a few minutes from the motorway, M5 junction 24, at the Bridgwater Gateway business hub. Some dentists live in or near Bridgwater, but recent FDs have all commuted from Taunton.

The practice is a listed building and currently has 5 surgeries and will increase to 6 once our refurbishments are completed in Summer 2018. It is staffed by 4 dentists and one Hygienist. Yeovil is a town located in Somerset. Yeovil has many things to offer such as great gym facilities, cinema, Bowling, restaurants, nightlife, theatre and much more. It has great transport links with the bus station 5 minutes’ walk from the practice and the train station is 15mins walk. Within an hour’s drive are Bath, Exeter, Taunton and Bristol.
