We try to provide a family friendly environment for patients and have a great team of receptionists and qualified dental nurses.

Further Information:

We operate an open-door policy, encouraging our FD to come to us for help and advice. At various points in the year our FDs will spend a bit of time nursing for the trainers, and vice versa; past FDs have found this to be very helpful. We try to ensure that FDs leave with a clear understanding and appreciation of teamwork. We aim to give FDs a gentle start to the year to enable them to get to grips with treatment planning, while getting used to their new surgery and software etc in a supportive low-pressure environment.

We wish to provide ethical, good quality dental care with a considerate approach, encouraging preventative techniques and putting the patient at ease with a laugh or two along the way. We wish for someone with a similar outlook to join us.

We would strongly encourage you to try to arrange a visit to the practice if you are interested in coming here or if this is not possible a virtual meeting with the trainers. Should you have any questions then please email Carl on carl.fullaway@nhs.net or contact us on the above number during working hours.

 Educational Supervisors:

Matthew qualified from Bristol Dental School in 1999 and have been an educational supervisor since 2005. Since qualifying I have also gained a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies in 2007 and 30 credits for a Dental Education in Practice Course in 2010.

I find training foundation dentists extremely rewarding and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience during my many years as an educational supervisor. I have lost none of my enthusiasm for the role and thoroughly enjoy the process of helping a new graduate become a confident and capable independent practitioner during their foundation year.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, renovating my house and I am a keen gardener.

Úna Miles  graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2001 and have since enjoyed working in a variety of general dental practices.

I particularly enjoy the blend of problem-solving, hands-on work, and the rewarding opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients that general dentistry offers. As an educational supervisor, I look forward to fostering a new dentist's confidence and skills, guiding them through those crucial early weeks and months of their careers. My strengths lie in providing supportive mentorship, clear guidance, and creating a positive learning environment where questions are always welcome. Outside of the surgery, family life keeps me busy and happy. We love getting outdoors for camping, hiking, running, and cycling adventures. When I'm not exploring the countryside, you might find me lifting kettlebells, enjoying a game of table tennis, or indulging my creative side with baking and cake decorating.

The surgeries are fully equipped with everything you will need including the use of a rotary endodontic system.

The practice is busy and will provide the foundation dentist with a wealth of experience in all the disciplines of general dental practice. Full nursing and reception support will be provided. The practice welcomed its first foundation dentist in 1997and has been a training practice ever since. We have a great team at Yate and they are very knowledgeable in providing the support a new graduate needs in their first year out of university, ensuring you will have happy and successful year with us.
