Devon and Coastal Scheme

The general dental practices of this schemeare geographically placed all over Devon. Closer to Exeter but not too far away from Plymouth;two vibrant and diverse University cities. Both cities have so much to offer from unique shops, bars, restaurants, cathedrals, architecture, surfing, sailing, concert venues, sporting venues, as well as being on the doorstep to idyllic countryside; Dartmoor and the superb north and south Devon coast lines. 

Life in the South West is conducive to a positive work-life balance. 

You are encouraged to visit the area so you can appreciate all that this part of the South West has to offer. 

The Educational Supervisors on the Devon & Coastal scheme have a wealth of experience and welcome and support new graduates into general practice.  

Study days are in the main are based in Exeter, either in a hotel setting or at the Dental Education Facility (DEF) and similarly when in Plymouth. Study days are both theory based and hands on. For practical reasons, some sessions are shared with other nearby schemes and travel to Plymouth or Taunton is an expectation.  

Travel for study days are reimbursed. Travel to and from your practice is not. It is advantageous that you have use of a car to travel across the county. 

An overnight residential with the whole region DFT schemes has recently been reintroduced.
